Dungeons And Dragons #2 Review

Dungeons And Dragons #2

The action and adventure campaign continues. Today I will be reviewing Dungeons and Dragons #2. Please leave a comment to let me know what you think.

So let’s talk about the book. As the orphanage collapses, Adric, Bree and Juliana begin rescuing kids. Meanwhile, Kahl, Varis and Tisha attack the mage, who turns out to be a changeling. Using his face-shifting abilities, he manages to escape from our heroes with the artifact, even stabbing Tisha in the process.  As the two parties meet up with the rescued children, Adric decides to go after the changeling. Tracking him through the forest, the party comes upon a caravan being attacked by orcs. Adric orders everyone to enter the fray but in the confusion, the changeling switches again. In order to buy time, Adric challenges the orc leader to a one-on-one battle. The orc accepts and smashes Adric in the jaw, knocking him down to the ground. And that’s the book.

So let’s talk opinions. Another amazing issue. The action is non-stop. The story is smooth and not overcomplicated. The characters are written perfectly. That thief is so spot on its ridiculous. I love how she takes the time, every time, to make some humorous comment or steal something. And the book is damn funny. The commentary is everything that you would expect actual players of D&D to say. The orcs were drawn magnificently. World of Warcraft would be jealous of this art. The action scenes were amazing once again. It’s like seeing the D&D battle come to life. This book is really bringing back my childhood. Maps, stats, adventure sheets. Wiseass comments coming from all sides. I spent many a night surrounded by my friends doing exactly what is happening in the book right now. Once again, the added bonus of getting DM stats for all of the book’s encounters at the end was great. Now we have Khal’s character sheet to add to Adric’s from last issue. If you want an amazing, fast paced, action and adventure book filled with humor, go out and get this book now. You won’t be sorry. That’s my opinion folks. Take it or leave it.

I have been a comic collector and reader for 25 years. My major comic love is all things Marvel with the X-Men being at the top. I also dabble in anything and everything that catches my eye. Guess that makes me the "all over the place" reviewer. A title which I claim with pride. I am a happily married man of almost 10 years living in Brooklyn, NY with my wife and two amazing boys. I hope you enjoy my opinions and I look forward to reading and responding to any comments or criticisms.
