Dungeons And Dragons #3 Review

Dungeons And Dragons #3

The action and adventure continues in this amazing fantasy tale from IDW. Today I will be reviewing Dungeons and Dragons #3. Please leave a comment to let me know what you think.

So let’s talk about the book. As Adric and the orc leader battle it out, Varis is searching for the changeling hidden among the orcs. The battle is fierce and furious, but after some time, Adric manages to outwit and defeat the orc. The rest of the orcs attack the humans but Varis manages to find the changeling and kill him, stopping the battle. Bree then gets them the magic orb that the changeling stole. Kahl lets the party know that the orb is really a dwarven made device used to open doorways between worlds. The party decides to find the dwarven forge where the orb was made and shut it down and kill anyone who tries to stop them. Arriving at the forge, which is underground, the party is ambushed by some fighters and a teleporter, who are probably from another world. As the parties are fighting, a trap is sprung, the room they are in is sealed and water starts to fill the room. And that’s the book.

So let’s talk opinions. Another amazing action packed non-stop issue. There seems to be no pause button with this title. It’s exactly like a game of Dungeons and Dragons. The story is smooth and not overcomplicated. No useless getting to know you moments. No reflections on deep issues. Just fights, quests, traps, snide comments, ambushes and magic. The writer really understands the characters he is working with. He knows how they should act and react. The art is brilliant and a joy to look at. Nothing is off. The banter between the characters reminds me of campaigns that I used to play with my friends when I was much younger and how we would speak to each other. It was a great time. Laughter all the time. Once again, the added bonus of getting Varic’s character sheet to add to the other two is sweet. Since Conan is no longer on the market as a monthly title, this book is your best source for all of your fantasy and adventure cravings. Nothing out there is better. That’s my opinion folks. Take it or leave it.

I have been a comic collector and reader for 25 years. My major comic love is all things Marvel with the X-Men being at the top. I also dabble in anything and everything that catches my eye. Guess that makes me the "all over the place" reviewer. A title which I claim with pride. I am a happily married man of almost 10 years living in Brooklyn, NY with my wife and two amazing boys. I hope you enjoy my opinions and I look forward to reading and responding to any comments or criticisms.
