Dungeons And Dragons #4
The best fantasy adventure book on the market returns with another awesome tale. Today I will be reviewing Dungeons and Dragons #4. Please leave a comment to let me know what you think.
So let’s talk about the book. Using her amazing thief skills, Bree manages to save the party from drowning to death and by resetting the trap. After Fell’s Five manage to defeat their attackers. The party moves deeper into the dungeon but are split up in a later encounter. Kahl and Tisha travel one way, telling each other tidbits about their past while Adric, Bree and Varis head in another direction. The three party members come up on a flaming skull that aids them and leads them to the heart of the Dark Forge. There, the skull tells them that their attackers have restored the Forge and that the invasion of their world will begin soon. To emphasize, a giant creature steps through the operational portal, a Cyclops. And that’s the book.
So let’s talk opinions. I’m beginning to run out of accolades for this book. It really is perfection put to page. The action picks up immediately and the quest is the constant focus of the issue. There was a small pit stop for a little background on Tisha but that’s just part of the quest too. I’m guessing the next story arc might focus on Tisha’s search for her parent’s killer. (Her sister, probably.) I loved the way that Bree is being written and portrayed. I really cannot stress enough how important it is to get a character’s personality right in Dungeons and Dragons. Bree’s personality is 100% spot on thief. I should know, as playing a thief was usually my job in our campaigns. The art is spectacular once again but the cover was a bit of a tease as we didn’t really have any ogre battles. Once again, the added bonus of getting Tisha’s character sheet to add to the other three is sweet. Next issue I should finally get Bree’s character sheet (save the best for last) and the party will be complete. Then everyone out there can get together with their friends and play as Fell’s Five in a campaign of their own. I can’t wait for the first story arc’s conclusion next issue. This title is slowly becoming my favorite monthly book. That’s my opinion folks. Take it or leave it.
