SDCC Thursday Wrap-Up: Stephanie Brown, New 52, Marvel Digital & More

The news flooding in from the first day of the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con is staggering. We condense some of the highlights to Thursday’s comic book news along with anything worth sharing.

From the Batman panel: Finch will give up partial writing duties for his Dark Knight book (thank you!), confirmation that Batwoman will be on time and look freaking gorgeous, Gail Simone reassuring us that Stephanie Brown has not been forgotten and that Batgirl will be young girl fresh out of college (even though the Killing Joke is said to be in continuity?), Jason Todd’s hair color, and lots of art. [

From the Flashpoint panel: “The summer event will officially bridge into this fall’s relaunched line of DC Universe titles with a double-page spread,” origin of Batman: Knight of Vengeance, Wally West and Jay Garrick news, and a VERY exciting quote, “if the demand exists, fans might see further adventures of Flashpoint characters.” [Marvel Comics

By the end of 2011 all Spider-Man and X-Men title will be available day-and-date digitally starting with Amazing Spider-Man #666, Uncanny X-Men #1, and Wolverine and the X-Men #1. [
