Batman: Earth One Is Still Happening. Maybe. Hopefully.

Batman: Earth One is the planned second graphic novel within DC’s Earth One continuity. The project had everyone excited when Superman: Earth One was released back in October 2010 [our review] and it sold so well that DC announced a sequel. News on Batman: Earth One essentialy went dark though with little to no updates. Until recently when Amazon.com’s pre-order page for the book was updated and we got our first look at the cover along with a release date.
The original plan was for Superman: Earth One and Batman: Earth One to be released around the same time and to do two novels a year, that didn’t happen (would have been nice though).
At MegaCon 2010 I got a chance to ask Dan Dido and Geoff Johns themselves about the project and was told that Batman: Earth One would be released around the same time as the Superman sequel [Link]
According to the Amazon.com’s pre-order page though the release date has been set at May 8, 2012 (which would be just shy of a year from my MegaCon update). Perhaps there waiting for the Superman sequel to finish and have the two released close together and I can’t imagine the DC relaunch has made Geoff Johns less busy.
No word from DC though.
Either way, the book still looks fantastic, just delayed. And although it looks as if progress is being made this is me not holding my breath for that date to stay put.
Meanwhile All Star Batman and Robin, I mean Dark Knight: Boy Wonder, is still floating around in the DC publishing phantom zone.

That alfred design is so cool ! Are those designs for all star batman and robin or for batman earth one? The batman design dosn’t look different fron the current mainstream bruce wayne/batman costume to me.
