Bullseye Vs. Bronze Tiger [Fantasy Battle Tournament]

Stepping into the ring today is the the always dangerous martial artist versus the insane marksman with the deadly accuracy. The fans have been polled. Their votes have been recorded. Let the battle begin:

Darkness. His mind is usually clouded by darkness so a little bit more shouldn’t matter. However, he usually likes it when the darkness is a result of his own doings and not that of some outside entity. And this unnatural darkness is definitely not of his own making. Still, there is something familiar about it. For some reason, it reminds him of nights spent in solitary while he was locked up on the Raft. Thoughts of killing and maiming being his only comforts during those lonely days and torturous nights. Rage starts to boil in his gut from those painful memories.

“Someone is going to die. Slowly and painfully. With lots of pretty little holes gushing lots of pretty little streams of  blood. Do you hear me?” screams Bullseye into the darkness.

Suddenly, a voice speaks in his head. “Defeat your enemy and you live. Lose, and you die. Refuse to fight and I’ll kill you both.”

“I’m definitely going to kill someone.” growls the sadistic Bullseye. “Plenty of people will die when I find out who is behind this attack. Or you can come out and I’ll make your death quick. One time offer.”

His only response is a laugh and a sudden burst of light. As his vision slowly starts to clear, Bullseye notices that he is in what appears to be an enclosed dojo. However, there do not seem to be any weapons at all hanging anywhere. In addition, there does not appear to be any doors or windows. Also, he seems to be shackled to a stone pillar. Directly across from him, maybe a hundred feet away, is another stone pillar with another man shacked to it. The man looks to be wearing a tiger mask and suit or maybe he is part tiger. Maybe he’s some cousin of the Puma or Tigra. Bullseye doesn’t care. He needs to get out of these cuffs and kill the man in front of him. Nothing else matters. Bullseye starts searching for any advantage or anything he can use as a weapon, but can’t find any object that can be thrown.

“Hey kitty cat.” yells Bullseye. “You’re going to die today. I hope you used the litter box before you got here.”

The man with the tiger’s face slowly looks up and a low growl escapes his lips.

“Got a hairball, kitty? Or was that supposed to frighten me?” laughs Bullseye.

“You’re a funny man.” says the Bronze Tiger calmly. “I’m going to enjoy knocking your teeth out. Thank you for even drawing a target on your head so I know where to direct my fists.”

“It speaks.” says Bullseye. “Does it scream too?”

Suddenly, Bullseye’s shackles click open and fall to the ground. Bronze Tiger’s does as well. The battle is quickly on.

In an instant, the Bronze Tiger closes the distance between himself and his opponent and begins to attack. Kicks and punches begin to fly at lightning speeds towards his enemy. Years of training under the best martial artists in the world and the knowledge he learned from them are immediately evident as he is landing many of his blows.

Bullseye, however is no slouch in the fighting department as well. While not as skilled or strong as Bronze Tiger, his athletic ability and incredible reflexes keeps him in the fight. He is able to block many of the masked man’s blows and even score a few punches of his own. Still, he knows that if this fight continues, eventually he will be outskilled and defeated. He needs something to even the odds a little. Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he spots the shackles lying on the ground near the stone pillar. Feigning a lunge towards his enemy, Bullseye launches himself towards the potential weapon instead.

Bronze Tiger is also nobody’s fool. He immediately dives towards the shackles as well. Bullseye is a little bit faster and reaches them first. Rolling behind the pillar, Bullseye snatches the weapon. With snakelike speed, he lines up his shot and releases. However, the Bronze Tiger is charging him as he throws the projectile. The weapon grazes Bronze Tiger’s head just as Bronze Tiger crashes into Bullseye and smashes him against the stone pillar which cracks under the force of the impact, sprinkling pieces of stone all over the floor. Slowly, the Bronze Tiger rises to his feet. His head is still dizzy from the blow but he is able to stand without falling over. Looking down at his prone enemy, the Bronze Tiger lets out a scream of rage and euphoria.

“I did it.” he yells. “My enemy is defeated. Who’s next?”

“Really?” says a voice from behind him. “I don’t look defeated.”

With a look of shock and disbelief, the Bronze Tiger turns to see his enemy standing on his feet holding multiple pebbles of stone.

“How? I heard your back break. You weren’t moving. HOW?” cries the Bronze Tiger.

“Adamantium spine and playing possum, loser.” replies Bullseye with a sadistic grin. “Now I want you to bleed for me kitty cat. BLEED AND DIE!”

Bullseye begins throwing the sharp pebbles. The first hits Bronze tiger right in the chest causing blood to trickle out of the wound. Another catches him in the throat. Bronze Tiger raises his hands to cover the wounds but there is nothing he could do to stop the barrage of painful darts from piercing his flesh. Bleeding out and gasping for air, the Bronze Tiger falls to the ground. Slowly, Bullseye walks over to his fallen enemy.

“Once in a while, its fun doing this with my bare hands.” says Bullseye as he picks up Bronze Tiger’s head and snaps his neck. “Thank you mystery voice. I haven’t had this much fun in a long time. Maybe you and I can have some fun too? Come on out and we’ll see, huh? What do you say?”

The only answer he receives is a laugh and darkness.

Another win for marvel. It’s starting to look like only Batman and his sidekicks can win for DC. Another good job with this entry, I thought it flowed more smoothly than the last one. Keep up the great work.

No way! No way! A clear sign that many who voted don’t know much about the Bronze Tiger. He’s one of the top 5 martial artists in the DCU and has beaten Batman in straight hand-to-hand combat. Guess he can’t beat Bullseye’s popularity.

I have been a comic collector and reader for 25 years. My major comic love is all things Marvel with the X-Men being at the top. I also dabble in anything and everything that catches my eye. Guess that makes me the "all over the place" reviewer. A title which I claim with pride. I am a happily married man of almost 10 years living in Brooklyn, NY with my wife and two amazing boys. I hope you enjoy my opinions and I look forward to reading and responding to any comments or criticisms.
