More Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark Shenanigans
A little late but, worth poking fun at watching; on New Years Eve in Times Square the Goblin from Broadway’s Spider-man musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, kidnapped Anderson Cooper from CNN with the hopes that he’d co-anchor with him for his new TV network, WWFN, World Wide Freak Network.
Yup.
It’s really our fault at this point to still be amazed at how silly and Joel-Schumacher’s-Batman-and-Robin-feeling this musical is. And although you have to tip your hat to how much exposure they’re getting themselves (they interrupted the New Years Eve broadcast live in Times Square, not an easy feat I’d imagine) it can’t help but feel like a step backwards for fans of ol’ web-slinger.
However, in the final week of 2011 it was reported that the musical had the highest single-week gross [ticket sales] of any show in the history of Broadway. [More Spider-Man @ acomicbookblog.com/tag/spider-man
