Batman and Robin # 2 Review
Written by Grant Morrison, art and Cover by Frank Quitley, Variant Cover by Andy Kubert
Before I start the review I want to say Frank Quitley artwork in this issue is fantastic!!!! Now with the review………….
Spoiler Warning!!!
They story starts in the Wayne Tower’s Batcave with Dick Grayson who’s having doubts about being Batman. Dick explains to Alfred what went wrong back in G.C.P.D. After the first meeting between Commissioner Gordon and the new Dynamic Duo. The Circus Slang busted into G.C.P.D. where Toad is being held up. Batman and Robin races towards the main entrances to stop the Circus Slang from getting to Toad’s cell.
Frank’s artwork is outstanding with all his panels of Batman and Robin beating the hell outta the Circus Slang. His 2 pages of panels of Batman beating up the triplets is fantastic. After the ass kicking the Dynamic Duo put on the Circus Slng, Gordon, and his men pulls out their guns to stop Damien from abuse-fully interagating the fat man on the where abouts of Pyg. Batman grabs the stick away from Damien before he does more damage to the fat guys head. Its discovered while Batman and Robin where occupied with the Circus Slang someone killed Toad, and Gordon’s pissed about it. Gordon doesn’t say much in the issue, because after the event of Battle for the Cowl he doesnt seem to trust the new Batman and Robin. Dick and Damien return back to Wayne Tower’s Batcave argueing for what Damien did back in G.C.P.D. Damien continues to diss Dick as Batman calling Dick a mockery to his Bruce’s memory. Damien rips the “R” symbol off his chest and throws it on the ground, then rides off in a Robin motorcycle leaving Wayne Towers to solve the case on his own. Dick is left with doubt after what happen in G.C.P.D., and with Damien he’s unsure if he wants be Batman anymore. Alfred reminds Dick that he doesn’t have to make his Batman as a memorial, but as a performance. Alfred gives more advice to Dick to help build his convidece. Dick puts the mask back on then smiled and said “The Show Must go on.”
Damien is shown to discover Pyg’s Hideout, he sees a disfigured Sasha tied up on Horse toy. Damien is attack, and captured by Pyg’s Dollotrons. The last page of the issue reveal Batman leaving Wayne Towers riding The Quad-Bat.
Grant’s Batman and Robin story continues to be very exciteting and intense, and Frank Quitely’s art is beautiful, and the best I’ve seen from his work. I give Batman and Robin issue 2 a solid A. Those who are boycotting any of the Batman titles because Bruce isn’t Batman then your missing out on a very enjoyble story.

I definitely love this Batman and Robin series. Hope artist Philip Tan could blow us all away when he takes over for issue #4. Man, did Frank Quitely leave some very big shoes to fill! Haha!
I know, it’s kind of a let down to know Frank will be leaving after this 3rd issue.
