Brandon Routh’s Superman contract has expired

From Superherohype.com:

“Superman Returns star Brandon Routh recently told Omelete (via ThinkMcFlyThink.com) that his contract to star in a sequel has expired, but that if they were to call again, he would go back to the character without thinking twice. Other than that, Routh said he does not know anything about the status of the possible project.”

I say, GOOD! (In hopes that WB won’t resign him)

It’s not that I don’t like Brandon Routh it’s just that I’m ready to move on from the Christopher Reeve look-alike movies and start fresh with a new story and new actor, both of which more accuratley display the modern comic book version of Superman and his mythology. I mean in every Superman movie it’s Lex Luthor trying to take over the world; which I like, but guys like Brainiac get no love and the whole Kirby New Gods stuff with Darksied would be an amazing. Anywany…Superman Returns majorly dissapointed me and I really hope WB reboots with a comic book reference.

See what I’m saying? You tried Bryan Singer…but failed (matter of opinion though).

Yea, thats the thing about Routh. He wasnt hired to play superman, he was hired to play christopher reeve playing superman. He pulled off clark, but fell extremely short at superman.
