News from the DC Panel at Heroe’s Comic Con 2009
I had the opportunity to attend Heroes Con two weeks ago and received some updates from DC Comics reps, Ian Sattler, Ethan Van Sciver, Mark Bagley and Brian Cunningham that I thought I would share with you all.
*Mark Bagley (Trinity, Ultimate Spiderman) will be working with James Robinson on the Justice League series later this fall. Unfortunately the new JLA team hadn’t been hammered out yet, but Mark did say that it would be spinning out of Cry For Justice.
*While Ethan Van Sciver will be spending a lot of time on the Flash Rebirth series currently hitting the market he will also be doing a few variant covers for some of the Blackest Night mini-series coming out later this year.
*For those of you holding your breath/holding in your intense dislike for DC’s next weekly series wait no longer. Wednesday Comics is scheduled to run for twelve weeks and will feature some of comics best writers and artists as well as characters ranging from Superman to Metamorpho.
*Hawkman will be showing up in the pages of Blackest Night so keep a lookout.
*Paul Dini’s much talked about Zatanna series may see the light of day later this year according to DC Editor Ian Sattler
*Grant Morrison is going to be working a series of one-shots, each dealing with some of the different Earths we saw in 52. The one-shots will probably not be seen till fall 2009/winter 2010.
*Last, but not least, The Outsiders will find new ties being formed within the Superman side of the DCU as well as Batman later this fall.
