“Avengers Assemble!” – New Line-Up Revealed!

Marvel has released this teaser image by Jim Cheung titled simply ‘Avengers’. We heard recently that Marvel will be bringing to a close its four main Avengers titles (New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, Dark Avengers & Avengers Initiative), and this is the first promotional image for Marvel’s new lead Avengers book announced as ‘Avengers’, written by Brian Michael Bendis.

Bendis and Quesada have announced that this title will have a more optimistic outlook and an adventurous swashbuckling feel to co-inside with Marvel’s new heroic age.

I got to say I like the sound of this, I think the fun ‘Avengers’ Free Comic Book Day issue from last year, written by Bendis,  may be a good indication to the tone and feel of this book, and I think that will be a nice change for us readers. It’s been pretty much doom and gloom for our favorite Marvel heroes over the past few years, since ‘Avengers Dissasembled’ really. The line-up of characters shown looks awesome. It has a classic Avengers feel with a few unexpected characters thrown in to the mix. There’s no Wolverine I noticed, looks like the guy may actually get a day off! I wonder how long until Deadpool pops up though!
