Blackest Night: Titans #2 Review
This issue was written by J.T. Krul, and is excellently written with great vocabulary for each individual character that helps to show what the characters are thinking at that exact moment. I love Krul’s writing, and can’t wait to see what he’ll do after this.
The issue was pencilled by Ed Benes, who also helps Scott Williams with the inking tasks, while Hi-Fi Design takes the coloring duties. Ed Benes is a great artist, and I can’t describe his work good enough to fully explain his skill. The inking is also great, but a highlight of the issue is Hi-Fi’s colors, which I think, when mixed with the Titans, is an excellent combination. Hi-Fi has also done work on Justice Society of America, Birds Of Prey, 52, Final Crisis, and some Superman work. I think their credentials speak for themselves.
Overall, I felt this issue is excellent, and definitely fits the tone and style Blackest Night as a whole represents. It proves that the darkness goes all the way to the farthest reaches, and is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
I will give this issue an 8 OUT OF 10.
