Deadpool vs Evil Deadpool. Round 1. Today I will be reviewing Deadpool #46. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
So let’s talk about the book. Deadpool survives the plane crashing into the bridge he is standing on by jumping into the river. He then goes to get some grub and finds Evil Deadpool waiting for him. The two then begin a battle of wits and wills. Each one tries to out-think the other but it is no use as they both have the same brain and know what each other will do before they do it. They battle back and forth until Evil Deadpool disappears. Deadpool is wondering why, when he is blindsided by something and knocked to the ground. When he gets up, he is greeted by the image of Captain America, who tells Deadpool that he is going down. And that’s the book.
So let’s talk opinions. Once again, I liked this issue. The story was really simple and easy to follow but filled with a lot of insane twists. If you think trying to understand the thoughts of One Deadpool was touch, imagine trying to understand two of them. Especially when one is homicidal and deranged. And the other is Evil Deadpool. I really enjoyed the writing this issue. It was basically Deadpool talking and fighting himself for an entire issue. Pretty freaking hilarious. The way the two of them can read each others minds and predict what will happen next and try to counter it. It’s like having a chess match within a chess match. It was hilarious the amount of Homer Simpson D’oh moments that Deadpool was going through this issue. That really made it even funnier to read. These two are really evenly matched. I can’t foresee how one of them will manage to get the upper hand and kill their enemy. If I had to guess though, I would say that since freezing worked once, maybe it will work again. I was impressed with Evil Deadpool’s forward thinking and having Cap unwittingly show up to fight his battles. Maybe Deadpool can convince Cap of his innocence. (I doubt it.) In any case, I am really looking forward to a nice battle between the two next issue. The art this issue was great once again. Lots of well drawn action sequences that didn’t hold back on the blood or destruction. I also really love the attention to small details, like the flies that kept buzzing around Evil Deadpool. A great job all around. That’s my opinion folks. Take it or leave it.
