Monday Morning One-Liners (4/29/13)

man-of-steel-trailer-3This just in:  the ‘S’ on Superman’s chest isn’t an ‘S!’  Finally, non-geeks will get to learn the Kryptonian language!  All this and more is waiting for you after the jump at this week’s edition of Monday Morning One-Liners!

Don’t forget:  Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, May 4!

Speaking of FCBD, we’ll get to see some ads for upcoming books, including Avengers: Endless Wartime, Judge Dredd and Buck Rogers.

In case anyone tries to tell you that we’re not living in the golden age of comic book movies, check out the trailers for Thor: The Dark World, The Wolverine and Kick Ass 2 – and the new Man of Steel trailer features the first mention in a movie of the fact that Superman’s insignia is not an ‘S.’  Oh, and a little picture called Iron Man 3 is coming out on May 3 – perhaps you’ve heard of it?

Marvel Studios has reacquired the film and TV writes to Daredevil.

DC Comics’ Trinity War will also get three tie-ins:  Trinity of Sin: Pandora, Trinity of Sin: Phantom Stranger, and Constantine.

DC Comics has announced a new character:  Nightmare Nurse.  But is she a hero or a villain?  Also, whew – that name is awful.  What year does DC think it is?

From the “Things we didn’t need” file comes a Keith Richards comic bookthe cover is absolutely horrifying.

Apparently, DC and Marvel Comics own a shared trademark on the word superhero, and they’ll take anyone to court if they try to use it.

  1. Andrew says:

Interesting news. For the Daredevil one, it should be ‘rights’, not writes, lol.

  2. Lorne Marr says:

Or instead of rights/writes some voodoo rites, to make finally a Daredevil movie that isn’t worth a double facepalm instead of watching. :)
